As anyone would expect, we all want to find something to do when we are bored. Find some type of entertainment to past the time, hang out with family, play with the dog, just…..something. Nowadays, movies are the go-to source of entertainment and distraction, giving hours of comedy, action, horror or whatever you want. But there is always the top movie of the year that you need to see, that everyone’s talking about, and if you haven’t seen it, you need to step up your game. Here are the top movies over the years, from 2005-2015 (since 2016 isn’t over yet).
1.Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith- although seen as the “lesser” within the Star Wars franchise, the numbers in the box office don’t lie. When this was released, it was an absolute hit in theaters and one of the “must-see” films of the year
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Crest- Jack Sparrow returns and brings even more comedy than the last movie. This comedy/action/thriller is always on the list of most movie-goers that’s guaranteed to have you crying the whole time
Spider-Man 3- The third movie in the Tobey Maguire trilogy, the constant drama, darkness, and action will have you glued to the screen the entire movie, watching from the edge of your seat.
Batman: The Dark Knight- Probably one of the best movies that you will ever see, this movie’s drama and action packed scenes, accompanied with Heath Ledger’s dark, yet funny joke, brings the whole package in the amazing blockbuster.
James Cameron: Avatar- Not to be confused with Avatar: The Last Airbender, this science fiction movie is easily one of a kind. From the creative atmosphere and landscape, to the character development and story, it is one of the greatest movies produced this decade.
Toy Story 3: Essentially ending our childhood (sad face), Toy Story 3 is the ending to a wonderful movie series that we grew up on. If you need a movie to look back on for your childhood, this is what you need to watch.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2- The glorious ending to a long running series, Harry finally comes to face with Voldemort (excuse me, “He who must not be named”) for the pic final battle. If you are even remotely interested in Harry Potter, you need to see this
Marvel’s The Avengers- Bringing together all of Stan Lee’s greatest superhero’s into one big mash-up, the constant action, development, and humor brings nonstop joy and laughter to the audience
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire- The second part of the series, Katniss Everdeen returns to the Hunger Games in a ploy to turn on the Capital after the Quaterquel is introduced, forcing her back into the arena.
American Sniper- Based on the true events of Chris Kyle in the marines, played by Bradley Cooper, this movie brings constant action, build up, and an insight into how war really plays out on the battleground.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens- See it….that’s it. As reunion of old cast, and introducing new members, it hasn’t lost that feel when the series ended 10 years ago. Definitely a must watch for all movie-viewers.
If you haven’t seen these movies, or you just need something to watch again, now you have a list to marathon through. Don’t worry, you can thank us later. Relive the past decade, courtesy of us🙂
